No I'm not dead
just a head lighter
Gone in the wind
as dust of us requires
I’m already ready for
My arriving departure
Along your river
would there be enough grace to outweigh
the grave?
along your side
would there be enough legs for us to break?
Along your river
I stand dry
Be thou my vision
Hide tide on the crystal seas
And be thou my vision
Run down in the golden streets
And be thou my vision
cause I've never seen nothing
No I'm not dead
Just ahead of the rest
Words weight bearing beams
Always seem to hold everything
Ah but hack through the view
You need them but you do not want to
Along your river
would there be enough grace to outweigh
the grave?
along your side
would there be enough legs for us to break?
Along your river
I stand dry
Be thou my vision
Hide tide on the crystal seas
And be thou my vision
Run down in the golden streets
And be thou my vision
cause I've never seen nothing
Him and her
Hem and Haw
Till all is gone, all is lost
Meanwhile you and I
Euthanize our supplies of alibis
Who am I to ask the questions?
Who am I?
Julien Baker is an acquired taste - assuming of course you’ve acquired great taste in singer songwriters… beautiful, devastating, honest, insightful… I’ve not heard a single song of hers that hasn’t left me in absolute awe. crisbroadhurst
I am pretty sure I love this album because of lines like this:
"Time cast a spell on you and you will forget me
I know I could have loved you, but you would not let me
I will follow you down ’til the sound of my voice still haunts you
You’ll never get away from the sound of the woman that loved you" . Somehow they hit really hard, even though the instrumentation is coercing you to sway back and forth in a positive form. quiet_calm_deceased
